Brrrrrr, grrrrrrr,  humbug!!! That is if you're feeling anything like me with another NY winter upon us. GRRRR!!

To keep my ever optimistic perspective (wink-wink   I had to compile a list if all there is to enjoy in my quaint lil' winter  community:

1~  The Christmas lights hung side to side across Main Street. Leading down to the Christmas tree, all light up in the gazebo.
2~  The Hudson River when it starts to freeze.
3~  Riverview  Restaurant on a Wednesday night.
4~ Ice skating at James pond.....with hot chocolate.
5~ Comfy boots from Hudson Valley Outfitters .
6- Being snowed in to the village and marching down to the Foundry for lunch with Jeff and Sharon (no cell phones please!!!)
7~ Listening to some of the best talent from as far north as " the Pole"  all the way down to the Everglades...at Whistling Willies
9~ Walkin' past DJ Master Sam playin' hits for Cold Spring Radio ...


...and the list goes on!

I feel better already.

I moved to Cold Spring, New York nestled in the beautiful Hudson Valley  about eight years ago. Being a city girl this was not an easy transition....as you might imagine! One thing that was easy, was looking out my window each day and taking in all the beauty and majesty of the truly magical place...OR taking hikes I could access right from town. The Old Foundry Ruins  being one of my fave's, which built the  famous "Parrot Gun" as well as locomotives, steam engines and ships.....It now sits in protected, lush ruins on the east bank of the Hudson River. There is a wonderful trail there that leads both to Constitution Marsh on one end and a waterfall  at the top of the hike which is how they powered the foundry.

With all the choices you have for great  restaurants, antiquing and  unique shops and  B+B's. Cold Spring is a great choice for a Bachelorette, Girls Spa day......or evening!

Metro North leaves you right into the center of town.
